Australia’s Subclass 870 visa enables parents to live temporarily with their children in Australia. It requires specific sponsorship and financial requirements to support family reunification.
Subclass 870 is a temporary parent visa for eligible parents of Australian citizens, permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens. An approved parent sponsor and other criteria are required. A visa may allow a stay of up to three or five years, subject to a cumulative ten-year limit. Further applications have separate requirements. It does not provide permanent residence.
